Open Educational Resources

A couple of weeks ago I attended a course at NIACE looking at Open Educational Resources, which is where I was reaquainted with TES Connect.  These are freely available quality resources available on the web, that you can use and possibly repurpose for your students. Some obvious starting places to look for access to top quality resources are
  • Open Learn from the Open University (free access to some OU materials with discussion forums)
  • MIT OpenCourseware (free lecture notes, exams and videos from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, introductory video embedded below)
  • Jorum: Learning and teaching resources, shared by the UK Further and Higher Education community, although many are open to all
  • NLN materials free bite sized learning you can combine into collections that your students can access through a single URL in the VLE or an email. Colleagues at CCCN contact me for the college password.
