Microsoft Mathematics is a very useful piece of software for Maths teachers. We have it on our network as a free-standing app, as well as a tab/ribbon within Word. This makes it much quicker and easier to embed graphs and expressions within a Word document. But it will do much more, factorising expressions, solving equations... I am still working up the steeper part of the learning curve myself. Here's a quick (4 minute) video introduction of some basics I have made. Don't forget to maximise the screen grab to cover my talking head! External viewers may like to go to the Microsoft free download page.
Once again, a real advantage of free software is students themselves can use it to create and learn, so tell them too!
