Happy Christmas to all my readers

Regifting again... pre-used, but it is still useful to know how easy it is to make an animated gif with a webcam, so here goes...

fakebook

That's faKebook, not facebook.
Quite a while ago here I blogged about  Pride and Prejudice in the style of facebook, and also a "live " Samuel Pepys blog.  Fakebook gives you the opportunity to challenge your students to synthesize modern social media with their topic of study, perhaps "to chart the plot of a book, the development of a character, a series of historical events, the debates and relationships between people" in the style of facebook.  There is a 90 second tutorial on the site, and if you are using well known characters (such as my Lady Mabeth example here) it will go off and search for appropriate images for you.
Whatever next; someone tweeting the second world war?  Well yes actually...
(fakebook is a find from the goldmine that is Larry Ferlazzo's blog)

a web whiteboard

A web whiteboard pure and simple:  http://awwapp.com.  Just what it says on the can, and you can get cracking using it without even signing up.  Start  drawing, and share the URL with others and collaborate.  You can save the finished board as an image (png) file. Perfect for touch screen mobile devices.  Really must improve my life drawing skills...
